The Queen of Carl Lake

Her coronation was a subtle affair. The frogs didn’t vote. The squirrels never knelt in allegiance. But when Rowenna decorated her floating throne and declared the monarchy, no one objected either. Drifting around the lake, lips sticky with only the sweetest pine nuts, she regally waves to her kingdom. The fanfare is tasteful, in fact imperceptible to anyone but Rowenna. Such a modest and benevolent ruler.
