Our Place in the Cosmos

Paul Woggy
A whimsical illustration of two anthropomorphic fox characters stargazing at night. One fox adult stands beside a telescope while a young fox looks through it, pointed towards the starry sky and a galaxy in the background. A campsite with a green tent and a campfire with two other foxes is visible in the foreground, set against a mountainous landscape.

Night’s quieter out here, kid. The desert listens and you can hear the universe. More stars come out than you’ve ever seen, going on forever. All those dots and feels like we’re just one of them. But take a closer look. That one dot’s really a thousand more, each a different colorful character. We’re all more than a mere speck in space. Every bit unique and we get to be a part of it.

The Nightwatch

Paul Woggy

Oren takes in a deep breath of the calm silence. Content with the view, relaxed yet vigilant. He will glow softly through the darkness. Ward away the things that go bump in the night. There won’t be any whimpering kits on his watch. No bad dreams for chipmunks. The forest can sleep. He may be small, but Oren is ready. The night is safe.
